Antony equalized for Manchester United after they fell behind early against Everton at Goodison Park.
Antony continued his outstanding start to life in the Premier League, scoring his third goal in as many games on Sunday evening to tie Manchester United against Everton at Goodison Park.
After going down to Alex Iwobi’s magnificent effort with only five minutes on the clock, United, who were defeated 1-0 on their previous visit to the blue half of Merseyside, equalized just ten minutes later. They regained possession in midfield, and Anthony Martial received the ball, motored forward, and produced a beautiful through ball for Antony to cling onto and neatly place past Jordan Pickford.
It was an exquisite and calm finish from the Brazilian, who started in attack with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial for the first time this season, with the latter earning his first Premier League start. Antony had scored in both of his league debuts, against Arsenal and, most recently, Manchester City.
Erik ten Hag’s side needed to come from behind to upset Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League on Thursday night in Cyprus after making the worst possible start to the evening. Unsurprisingly, Antony received praise on social media for the brilliance of his finish, as did Martial for the flawless pass.
