The Frenchman suffered another injury last weekend against Real Madrid and will miss Sevilla’s match against Levante tonight (Thursday). Prior to his first setback against Espanyol, Martial had scored and assisted in each of his first four games since joining the La Liga club on loan.

However, due to a muscular injury, he was forced to miss three of Pamplona’s games as they fell out of the La Liga title race. And since his return, the 24-year-old has struggled to find his best form.

He was forced off against Carlo Ancelotti’s team soon before the break. And things got even worse for Lopetegui as Madrid made a spectacular second-half comeback, with Karim Benzema clinching the victory in stoppage time.

“We have challenges in various spots,” Lopetegui acknowledged ahead of their journey to the Estadi Ciutat de València, according to Sevilla’s official website. Martial is unquestionably out. He experienced a muscular injury while he was in good shape, and he hasn’t been able to get any consistency since then.

“We’re waiting to see how they’re doing tomorrow before making any final choices.” On what has happened this year, I could write ten volumes. We have to put the players’ feelings and your own as a coach aside.”

After sliding down the pecking order at United, Martial went out on loan in quest of much-needed first-team minutes ahead of the World Cup in November. As his loan period draws to a close, it is unclear whether he will make his stay in Spain permanent or return to Old Trafford.
