With a £235 million naming rights contract with audio streaming provider Spotify, the Spanish giants have begun rebuilding their team in order to compete for major titles both at home and abroad once more.

Salah, who has yet to sign a new contract with Liverpool, has been guaranteed a free transfer to the Catalan giants next summer.

After told close friends a few months ago that he was willing to prolong his Merseyside stay, the attacker is reported to be delaying on accepting a new agreement due to the Barcelona issue.

Xavi has spoken to Wolves playmaker Ruben Neves and is hopeful of completing the transfer of Bayern Munich’s star goalscoring striker Robert Lewandowski.

Before the players return for pre-season training in preparation for big friendlies in Asia, Liverpool will have to make a difficult decision.

Salah insists that he is dedicated to a new Liverpool season even if he does not sign a new deal, but the club is undecided about enabling him to do so.

That might compel Barcelona or other interested clubs to make their intentions known sooner, which is far from ideal for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Salah indicated that he would continue at Liverpool next season ahead of the Champions League final, saying, “I don’t want to talk about the contract now, I’m staying next season for sure, that’s clear.”
