According to rumours, Marcus Rashford has rejected down the chance to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer, preferring to stay at Manchester United and compete for a starting spot. After undergoing shoulder surgery in the summer, Rashford struggled to reclaim his best form last season.

The 24-year-old scored five goals in 32 appearances for United in all competitions, and he was only used as a substitute during interim manager Ralf Rangnick’s tenure. Moving forward, Rashford will have to impress new manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag, on the other hand, might cause more problems for the England international as part of his much-needed reconstruction, with United looking for a flexible offensive option. Darwin Nunez is attracting interest from bitter rivals Liverpool, who appear to be the frontrunners to capture him.

Rashford’s contract with United expires in 12 months, but the club has a one-year extension option. Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Rashford this summer, according to Caught Offside, but The Times claims Rashford is desperate to stay at United and become a major player.
