Manchester United vow to focus on ‘togetherness’ as club respond to explosive Cristiano Ronaldo interview
Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s scathing remarks, Manchester United claim their focus remains on “togetherness.”
During an interview with Piers Morgan on Talk TV, the 37-year-old made a series of shocking comments in which he criticized manager Erik ten Hag and accused the club of betrayal.
Ronaldo’s second spell at Old Trafford has not gone as planned, with the Portugal captain refusing to come in as a substitute against Tottenham and leaving the stadium before the end of the game.
Ten Hag did reintegrate the player into his squad after the breach of discipline, but Ronaldo’s words have only exacerbated the situation.
“Manchester United observes the media coverage surrounding an interview with Cristiano Ronaldo,” the club said in a statement released Monday afternoon. “The club will evaluate its response after the entire facts have been determined.”
“Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and maintaining the momentum, belief, and unity that the players, manager, staff, and supporters have built.”
