Juventus’ plans for the summer market, and how they’ll fund incomings, notably significant ones like AS Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo.

Several peripheral players were offloaded during the January window, and De Ligt was mentioned as a probable summer departure even then.

Manchester United, according to Calciomercato, is one of the clubs interested in landing the Dutchman in a massive trade. While De Ligt hasn’t fully lived up to expectations, he is still only 22 years old and has been a regular starter for the Turin club this season.

Mino Raiola’s choice to send his player to Juventus had always appeared to be part of a longer-term strategy, with more money to be generated in the future. Clubs like Manchester United would naturally be drawn in, even though a central defender does not appear to be a priority for the club right now.

De Ligt will be associated with the Red Devils, as well as other major European teams, until the summer, in an attempt to create the impression of a bidding war for his signature.

Previous reports have suggested a transfer fee of around €100 million, which Manchester United will most certainly consider excessive.
