Man Utd risk losing out on transfer target with player’s girlfriend ‘house-hunting in Liverpool’

Jurrien Timber is reportedly considering leaving Ajax this summer, and his girlfriend has already begun house-looking in Liverpool.

Timber shone for Erik ten Hag at Ajax, helping the Dutch giants win the Eredivisie last season. Following Ten Hag’s appointment as manager of Manchester United, the defender was one of the players connected with a move to Old Trafford.

Timber chose to stay in Amsterdam at the time, but according to the Dutch television show Veronica Offside, the 21-year-old is planning to relocate this summer.

United is said to be interested once more, despite the fact that the teenager already played 30 games for Ten Hag in the 2021-22 season.

Timber supposedly didn’t think a move to Old Trafford was right for him at the time, while Ajax was hesitant to allow another of their academy stars go.

And Ten Hag may again miss out on the defender. Though Timber is reportedly eager to leave Ajax this time, Liverpool appears to be a more likely destination for the player than United.

Is timber to join Liverpool?

According to rumors in the Netherlands (via the Metro), Timber’s girlfriend has already searched out potential places to reside in the area, making Liverpool his preferred summer destination.

Timber would be reunited with Netherlands center-back partner Virgil van Dijk if he moved to Anfield, while old Ajax teammate Ryan Gravenberch has also been linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to supervise a rebuild at Liverpool this season, with the defense one of the numerous positions that require attention, with Joel Matip and Joe Gomez struggling as understudies during the season.

Timber, who is under contract with Ajax until 2025, has been tight-lipped about a summer departure.

According to Ajax Life, the Netherlands international stated, “Transfer? You never know what will come your way.

“This summer, I’ll consider my options and make a decision.”

“I feel good at Ajax right now, and that’s important.” There was interest last summer, but I elected to stay at Ajax.”
