Darwin Nunez of Benfica has been urged by Jose Enrique to reject Manchester United and join Liverpool this summer.

Nunez, 22, established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers last season, hitting 34 goals in 41 games.

Erik ten Hag is seeking for a new centre-forward to relieve Cristiano Ronaldo’s pressure next season, and the Uruguayan has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Enrique, a former Liverpool full-back, feels Nunez should join the Reds because Jurgen Klopp can develop him into a world-class player, like he did with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

‘I hope this isn’t true and he comes to us instead,’ the Spaniard stated on his Instagram story. Liverpool should go for it.
