Given the upcoming European Championships next summer, securing regular game-time is crucial for Maguire to be in peak form for the tournament. This situation has led many to believe that a change of club is necessary for Maguire's career. Steve Bruce, a former Manchester United defender, has now offered his insights on the matter. In an episode of the Up Front Pod with Simon Jordan, Bruce shared his thoughts on Maguire's predicament. He emphasized the importance for Maguire to rediscover his career and feel respected in his new environment. Furthermore, Bruce suggested an ideal destination for Maguire, considering the circumstances. He believed that West Ham, under the management of David Moyes, would have been an excellent fit for the defender. Bruce also admitted that, had he been in Maguire's shoes last summer, he would have made the decision to move on, especially after the manager had made it clear that he wouldn't be part of the starting lineup. Regarding the abusive treatment that Maguire receives, Bruce expressed his concern, stating that it has reached an unprecedented level. He observed that Manchester United supporters tend to express frustration whenever Maguire makes a mistake. Clearly, the level of abuse is intolerable, and numerous professionals, both current and former, have condemned it. Therefore, it appears to be a logical decision for Maguire to seek a new club in the upcoming transfer windows.
