Rasmus Hojlund is ‘undergoing a Manchester United medical’ ahead of a £72 million deal.

Rasmus Hojlund, who is set to join Manchester United for a fee of £72 million, will have his medical today.

After a successful debut season with Atalanta in which he scored nine goals, the 20-year-old became Erik ten Hag’s main summer striker target after learning Harry Kane was not interested in a move.

United have negotiated a fee of €75 million (£64 million) plus £10 million (£8 million) in add-ons, and Hojlund will sign a five-year contract, becoming the club’s third summer acquisition following Mason Mount (£60 million from Chelsea) and Andre Onana (£47.2 million from Inter Milan).

According to the Athletic, Hojlund is scheduled to arrive at the club’s Carrington training complex on Tuesday to complete his medical. Official confirmation of the entire transaction is likely later Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hojlund, who said farewell to his teammates over the weekend, has six caps for Denmark and six international goals.
