Noticias de Gipuzkoa reported earlier this week that Real Sociedad view Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek as an ideal target and are considering signing him on loan or permanently.
Arsen Zakharyan of Dynamo Moscow is also on the La Liga side’s radar. According to today’s Mundo Deportivo, they have chosen to sign the Russian to fortify the midfield.
Negotiations between the two clubs for Zakharyan are thought to be progressing, and La Real are confident the trade will be completed for €12 million. This would be a setback for Manchester United’s player.
Real Sociedad have been in talks with Manchester United in “recent weeks” about signing Van van Beek, but Zakharyan’s presence would “completely rule out the Dutchman.”
Mundo adds that once a contract with Dynamo Moscow is reached, the Spanish club’s ‘doors will be closed’ to the 26-year-old. Erik ten Hag’s side presented a ‘challenge’ for Real Sociedad in signing the former Ajax player.
The San Sebastian club intended to loan Van de Beek with the option to buy, however the Red Devils insisted on an obligatory purchase option worth more than €12 million.
Furthermore, Zakharyan’s remuneration would be far smaller than that of the Dutchman.
As a result, Real Sociedad is currently focused on discussing the transfer fee and payment terms for Zakharyan with the Russian club.
