Confirmed – Manchester United urged to sign Ligue 1 ace who will cost over £30 million

Manchester United are apparently interested in signing Castello Lukeba, a French defender.

According to Football Insider, the French under-21 international’s exploits have piqued the interest of Manchester United, and a member of the Premier League club’s scouting team has pushed Erik ten Hag to sign the 20-year-old defender at the end of the season.

Manchester United could use more defensive quality, especially with players like Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire linked with moves away from Old Trafford at the conclusion of the season.

Lukeba is recognized as a tremendous young talent with a bright future. He might be a good long-term investment for the Red Devils.

However, the French under-21 international is already a regular in Lyon’s first team, and it remains to be seen if he is willing to join Manchester United as a squad player. If the Red Devils play with a back four, Lukeba is unlikely to start ahead of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez. Ten Hag may have to adjust to a back three to accommodate all three defenders in the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, his club values the brilliant young defender at more than £30 million, and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United is willing to pay up for his talents. The Red Devils have the financial resources to pay that kind of money for the outstanding young defender.

Lukeba is under contract with Leo until the summer of 2025, and the French club is unlikely to accept a lowball offer for him anytime soon. Furthermore, he possesses the ability to justify the investment in the long run.
