Erik ten Hag has started every Premier League game this season since acquiring Eriksen in the summer transfer window. The former Brentford player joined the club as a free agent and has already pleased supporters with his precise control and outstanding passing range.

This was most recently on display during United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday when the Dane picked out three of Mikel Arteta’s teammates with a stunning pass that resulted in Antony scoring his first goal for the Reds.

Fernandes and Eriksen both had assists at Old Trafford on Sunday, as the new teammates gelled well on the field. Despite only having played a few games together, the former Tottenham player highlighted how the two are becoming better at knowing each other with each passing game.

“Me and Bruno [Fernandes] are starting to get to know each other on the pitch and see how we would like to play, pass the ball, and the runs we make,” he told United’s in-house media. We try to read each other and give each other alternatives, and Sunday was, of course, the ideal link-up to score goals.

“Do we talk during the game?” Yes, we are attempting to. Obviously, if you notice something, you try to inform them where and when the ball will be and where the run will be. You try to communicate and plan things, but you can’t always do that, so you come up with an idea and respond to the opponent.

“It’s only been a few games here for me, and I’m still trying to learn about my teammates, get to know them, and see how they play.”
