As Manchester United gears up to face Crystal Palace for the second time in just five days, fans are eagerly anticipating how Erik ten Hag’s side will line up at the Theatre of Dreams.

Following their dominant 3-0 victory over Palace in the Carabao Cup, United is expected to field a formidable lineup, and here’s our prediction for their starting XI:

Goalkeeper:
Andre Onana is set to maintain his place between the posts, aiming for a third consecutive clean sheet after a somewhat lackluster start to the season.

Defenders:
With Lisandro Martinez sidelined due to injury, the central defensive partnership of Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane is likely to remain intact, providing a solid foundation. Diogo Dalot, who has been in excellent form, is expected to continue at right-back, while Sofyan Amrabat, who showcased his prowess against Palace, should continue on the left. Amrabat’s ability to drift into midfield during possession play adds an extra dimension, especially with Sergio Reguilon still on the road to recovery.

Midfield:
Casemiro is anticipated to occupy the same role he excelled in during the midweek Palace encounter. Mason Mount is likely to assume a slightly deeper midfield role alongside him, forming a dynamic midfield duo. Young talent Hannibal Mejbri is expected to complete the midfield trio.

Attack:
Returning to the right-sided attacking position is the fully rested Bruno Fernandes, who impressed with a stunning goal last week. Marcus Rashford is set to make a comeback on the left flank, but he will need to step up his game with the emerging Alejandro Garnacho competing for his spot. Up top, Rasmus Hojlund returns with the goal of adding to his season’s goal tally.

Predicted Starting XI:

  • Goalkeeper: Andre Onana
  • Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Sofyan Amrabat
  • Midfielders: Casemiro, Mason Mount, Hannibal Mejbri
  • Attackers: Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund

United fans eagerly await this lineup, hoping for another commanding performance against Crystal Palace.
