Rangnick confirmed the news with Austria on Sunday, and Manchester United stated:

“We would like to express our gratitude to Ralf Rangnick for his efforts as interim manager over the last six months.”

“By mutual agreement, Ralf will now concentrate fully on his new duty as manager of the Austria national team and will not take up a consultancy post at Old Trafford.”

“We wish Ralf the best of luck in this next stage of his career.”

Rangnick took over as interim manager in early December and guided the squad through the remainder of a difficult season, with his tenure allowing United to conduct a comprehensive search for our next manager, which resulted in the appointment of Erik ten Hag.

He will now lead Austria in their forthcoming Nations League matches against Croatia, Denmark, and France in Group A1.

Once again, we thank Ralf for his efforts and wish him the best in the future.
