During the summer, Manchester United made significant moves in the transfer market, bringing in eight new players. Notable arrivals included Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund.

However, the start of the season has been challenging for the club, marked by four Premier League defeats and consecutive losses in the Champions League under manager Erik ten Hag.

Injuries have also plagued the squad, prompting club officials to consider potential signings for 2024.

Several players, including Goncalo Inacio, Joao Neves, Adrien Rabiot, Takefusa Kubo, and Umar Sadiq, have been linked with moves to Old Trafford. In a recent update, it appears that Manchester United could have made nine signings during the previous transfer window.

According to reports relayed by Sport Witness, there was a recent Manchester United transfer update regarding Gabriel Menino, suggesting that the club had an £8 million offer accepted by Palmeiras for the player during the summer.

Menino was seen as a ‘perfect addition’ to Ten Hag’s team based on recommendations from United scouts.

However, the transfer didn’t materialize officially due to issues at Old Trafford, and the player remained in Brazil.

Gabriel Menino is a 23-year-old Brazil U23 international who has progressed through Palmeiras’ academy.

He is known for his versatility, capable of playing as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder, or right-back. Menino’s transfer value currently stands at €10 million according to Transfermarkt, and he is under contract until 2025.

His versatility and work rate on the pitch have drawn comparisons to players like Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich. Menino has made 193 senior appearances for Palmeiras, scoring 15 goals and providing 17 assists.

While the deal didn’t go through in the summer, Gabriel Menino could remain a player of interest for Manchester United if he continues to perform well for his current club.

The agreement reached earlier suggests that United may revisit the possibility of signing him in the near future.
