We’ve looked at 10 World Cup players who could join the Premier League in the January transfer window.

We haven’t included players like Jude Bellingham, who will most likely move in the summer transfer window rather than January.

Torres, Pau
Torres has been the subject of significant transfer speculation since winning the Europa League with Villarreal in 2021 and has been linked with a move to a Premier League club on numerous occasions.

Manchester United and Tottenham have been the most heavily associated with the center-back, but Aston Villa, now headed by former Villarreal manager Unai Emery, has apparently entered the hunt for his signature ahead of the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has also established himself as a pillar at the heart of the Spanish national squad, and he is anticipated to start alongside Eric Garcia at the World Cup after Sergio Ramos was ruled out due to injury.

Frimpong, Jeremie
Frimpong has yet to appear in the Premier League despite being a Manchester City academy graduate.

The right-back left Celtic in the summer of 2019 to join Bayer Leverkusen, where he has seven goals and 13 assists in 68 games.

His outstanding performances have apparently piqued the curiosity of Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as Louis van Gaal.

The 21-year-old has no senior international experience but has been included in the Netherlands’ World Cup team, where he will compete for the right wing-back position with Denzel Dumfries.
