“You expect creativity from your wide players, Antony and Garnacho, but they are quite selfish players.

They are not players who are looking up; they’re thinking about scoring their own goals, thinking about scoring themselves,” remarked Scholes.

The statistics from the Bayern Munich game underline the issue, as Antony and Garnacho failed to register any key passes or accurate crosses before being substituted in the 74th minute.

This lack of creativity poses a significant challenge, especially in a must-win game where United struggled to break down the opposition.

Rasmus Hojlund, a player in need of service, suffered due to the absence of quality delivery into the box.

Antony and Garnacho’s inability to provide effective crosses and key passes limits the opportunities for Hojlund, hindering his goal-scoring chances.

While acknowledging the potential of Antony and Garnacho, Scholes emphasized that their current approach is falling short.

To extract the best from Hojlund and enhance United’s attacking prowess, there is a pressing need for Antony and Garnacho to transition from individualistic play to effective team-oriented contributions.
