Arsenal have again been mentioned for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in a possible swap deal.

The 27-year-old has long been on the radar of Premier League clubs, with his box-to-box qualities considered ideal for many top teams.

Milinkovic-Savic has been at Lazio for more than seven years, and last season he recorded his best ever goals and assists figures. He scored 11 goals in Serie A and provided 11 assists.

This year he could surpass those figures, with three goals and seven assists in just 11 league games.

However, that is if the Serbian does not change clubs in the next transfer window in January. And with Serbia competing at the World Cup this winter, Milinkovic-Savic has a chance to impress on the biggest stage.

The midfielder has been reported to be linked with the likes of Manchester United, Juventus and PSG. But now it is Arsenal who are being heavily linked with a potential move for the Serbian, and a Gunners player could be on the verge of leaving the club.

Arsenal linked with Milinkovic-Savic signing, trade possible?

On 14 October, Spanish media outlet Fichajes claimed that Arsenal were considering signing Milinkovic-Savic.

This is partly due to the midfielder’s contractual situation – his current contract with Lazio expires in 2024 – and the need to add more depth to the midfield should Thomas Partey get injured.

Now, Italian media outlet Calciomercato have added further details of the Gunners’ links. While it claims Juventus are “ready to splash the cash” to seal his signature, it adds that Arsenal are “ready to do everything” to sign him.

This includes a proposed swap involving current Gunners midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.

The Belgium international has struggled to find game time at the Emirates Stadium this season, starting just two of the Gunners’ 11 Premier League games so far.

However, he has started all four of Arsenal’s Europa League games so far this season.

The London club are reportedly bidding between €50m and €60m for Milinkovic-Savic, plus €25m for Lokonga, in an attempt to convince Lazio to sell him for less than the €120m they are asking for the player.
