The 22-year-old’s stellar form stands in stark contrast to Manchester United’s attacking struggles this season.

Spending the 2023/24 season on loan at Getafe, Greenwood has notched up four goals since his return to action, contributing to a dynamic attacking display.

His latest goal, a rising rocket from outside the box, exemplified his trademark move of cutting inside from the left.

The celebration was passionate, featuring a knee slide and embraces with teammates in front of an exuberant home crowd.

Greenwood’s impactful first-half performance included an 81% pass accuracy, successful completion of two out of three take-ons, and two out of three duels.

In recent weeks, Greenwood has been on a scoring spree, tallying five goal involvements in his last four appearances.

This includes a brace against Tardienta, an assist against Cadiz and Granada, and his first goal for Getafe against Celta Vigo.

Notably, Greenwood’s four-goal count this season surpasses that of every senior United forward, with Rasmus Hojlund (five) being the exception.

Hojlund, adorned with Greenwood’s No 11 shirt, arrived in the summer with a £72 million transfer.

Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro (both with four goals), and Scott McTominay (three goals) are the only United players close to Greenwood’s goal tally.

Antony, Jadon Sancho, Facundo Pellistri, and Amad Diallo are yet to score, with Amad sidelined due to injury.

However, Anthony Elanga, who departed for Nottingham Forest in the summer for £15 million, has notched up three goals, adding to the scrutiny of Ten Hag’s current options.
