Tyrell Malacia of Feyenoord is expected to become Erik ten Hag’s first signing at Manchester United, with the Dutchman scheduled to have a physical today in the northwest.
United hijacked Lyon’s contract for the defender last week, and Malacia informed the Ligue 1 giants of his wish to join United.
A disagreement between Malacia and his representatives, however, threatened to derail the move to the Theatre of Dreams, but the issue has now been settled.
This summer, the Red Devils have struggled to sign players, with John Murtough concentrating his efforts on a contract for Frenkie de Jong.
Malacia, on the other hand, is scheduled to fly to England today to complete his physical with the club before signing a £13 million contract.
While Alex Telles is set to leave, the defender will compete for a starting berth at left-back alongside Luke Shaw.
Ten Hag is also willing to consider offers for Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe, and Phil Jones.
Malacia’s exit is expected to be announced on Monday, after which United intends to seal deals for De Jong and Christian Eriksen.
Following that, United will try to persuade Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Old Trafford after the 37-year-old expressed his desire to leave the club.
