Manchester United’s chase of Ajax winger Antony appears to be progressing after one of the player’s representatives landed in Manchester for negotiations.
According to The Times, if United wants the Brazilian to play at Old Trafford next season, the Dutch club will seek a cost of £68 million. Erik ten Hag is excited to reunite with his former player and will see how much of an attacking threat the man who contributed 22 goals in 33 appearances for the Eredivisie club during the 2021/22 season can be.
The Dutch manager has stated that it is “essential” to add extra players in order to deal with a crowded Premier League fixture calendar.
Memphis Depay, a former United player, could be ready for a surprise return to the club, according to reports of a prospective move from Barcelona to Manchester.
According to Tutto Juve (via HITC), Ten Hag admires the 28-year-old and is interested in bringing his compatriot to the club this summer. Depay is said to have turned down a transfer to Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Despite Joan Laporta’s statements, the La Liga club may be obliged to sell several players this summer due to their precarious financial circumstances. Depay scored 13 goals in 37 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions last season and maybe a strong attacking danger under Ten Hag.
