Following the recent withdrawal of Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani from the Manchester United takeover bid, speculations arose about a possible return with an improved offer.

However, Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, while not ruling out the Qatari’s reentry, stated that there is currently “no indication” of such a development.

Sheikh Jassim’s initial offer, exceeding £5 billion for a 100 percent stake in the club, was rejected by the Glazer family, the controversial American owners of Manchester United.

He was also prepared to clear the club’s debts and invest £1.4 billion in the stadium and the team.

In the wake of Sheikh Jassim’s exit, British petrochemicals billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe emerged as the frontrunner, set to purchase a 25 percent share for £1.3 billion. The deal awaits approval at a board meeting this week.

While there remains a slim chance of Sheikh Jassim’s return should the Ratcliffe deal falter, sources close to the Qatari have assured that his decision to withdraw is “100% guaranteed and confirmed,” according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

This development represents a significant turning point in Manchester United’s ownership saga, with Ratcliffe’s INEOS expected to oversee the club’s football operations.

The British businessman had initially aimed to acquire the entire 67 percent shareholding held by the Glazers.
