Manchester United’s priority will shift to recruiting a striker once Mason Mount and Andre Onana’s deals are completed.
Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta is one of the most potential targets. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Manchester United and Atalanta held conversations earlier this month.
The 20-year-old is a promising young player with six goals in five international outings.

Rasmus Hojlund joined Atalanta last summer from Sturm Graz in Austria. In 2020, they purchased him from Copenhagen.
Christian Ilzer, Hojlund’s manager at Sturm Graz, has given an interview regarding the attacker, his skills, and his potential next move.
In addition to Manchester United, several prominent Serie A clubs, like Napoli, are interested in Hojlund if Victor Osimhen is sold for a high price.
Calcio Napoli quoted Ilzer as saying, “Hojlund has an incredible mentality and his style of play is ready for a top club.” I know him well, and I believe that because of his pace and mentality, he can play for Napoli and replace Osimhen. What the Nigerian achieved in Naples was insane, and it will be difficult to match him, but Hojlund has a shot.
“Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also interested in him, but I would advise him to stay at Atalanta for another year so that he can develop further before moving to a big European club.”
“Hojlund, for the way he plays his role and the strength he brings to the field, reminds me more of Haaland than Osimhen.”
“He handles the pressure flawlessly; in fact, the more spectators there are, the more excited he becomes.” Napoli was built for him, and whoever gets Hojlund gets a deal.”
While Ilzer describes Hojlund as “made for Napoli,” the Italian club is unlikely to make a move unless they sell Osimhen for the £130 million they are requesting.
Manchester United has an advantage in signing Hojlund because he is a self-confessed admirer, while Christian Eriksen has already tipped his international teammate to fit in at Old Trafford, according to Ekstra Bladet.
