Manchester United has revealed that Luke Shaw will be absent for a number of weeks due to an unexplained muscular ailment.
This season, the England left-back has started both of United’s Premier League games. Under Erik ten Hag, Shaw has been a mainstay at left back.
Shaw will be out for a lengthy amount of time due to a muscular ailment, and no timetable for his comeback has been set. He will miss Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest and is now a doubt for England’s upcoming European Qualifiers.
“Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has sustained an injury that will keep him out of the next few games,” United confirmed in a statement.
“The muscle problem is still being evaluated, but the England left-back is expected to be out for several weeks.” United are presently preparing for Saturday’s Premier League encounter at Old Trafford versus Nottingham Forest.”
During his pre-match press conference on Friday, Ten Hag will provide a more detailed update on United’s injury situation. Tyrell Malacia is also out injured, leaving United with little choices.
Alvaro Fernandez is the club’s most senior recognized left-back, but he has been linked with a move before next Friday’s transfer deadline. Diogo Dalot might join the team and play on the opposite side, a position he has previously held.
Brandon Williams has joined Ipswich Town on a season-long loan, United confirmed earlier today.
