According to rumours, Manchester United is preparing to make a major bid for Barcelona player Ronald Araujo.
The 23-year-old centre-future back’s is still up in the air because he has yet to sign a new deal at the Nou Camp. After settling on Raphael Varane as Harry Maguire’s long-term partner last summer, questions about their £80 million captain have fuelled speculation about another move in that position. Araujo is a highly regarded player around Europe, having appeared 33 times for the Catalan giants so far this season.
The Uruguayan sensation, on the other hand, is only under contract until 2023. As a result, the next transfer window may be Barcelona’s only chance to cash in on him.
Araujo is estimated to be worth £30 million. Sport reports that important figures in the Old Trafford boardroom are eager to go to any length to sign him, but United will face stiff competition.
Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City are mentioned in the same piece as being of interest. Xaxi, the manager of Barcelona, is said to desire to keep the youngster at the Nou Camp.
In other news, according to Fichajes, United will face a late approach from Real Madrid if they want to sign England captain Harry Kane. It comes after Kane was reportedly priced out of a high-profile transfer from Tottenham to Manchester City last summer.
After initially failing to find his best form this season, Kane was named Premier League Player of the Month for March, and elite teams are keeping a close eye on his position.
Despite seeming ready to capture Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer, Real have identified Kane as a target ahead of the summer transfer market opening. He is said to be worth more than £100 million.
