After reaching 100 Premier League games, Fred says that the amazing winner he scored against Crystal Palace is one of his favorite Manchester United moments. Before suffering a hip injury against Everton, the 29-year-old scored three goals in a recent tie with Leicester City.
Fred missed out on Saturday afternoon after being forced off in the first 45 minutes of United’s relegation-threatened defeat to Frank Lampard’s relegation-threatened team. Cristiano Ronaldo inspired United to victory over Norwich, dragging them back into the top-four mix.
Fred, who has been a standout performance since Ralf Rangnick took over as interim manager, was badly missed in that game and faces a battle against time to be fit for the match against Liverpool. Meanwhile, it was his jaw-dropping score in Rangnick’s first encounter as United manager in December that got the ball rolling.
“That’s tricky because it’s difficult to pinpoint a single game from the 100 I’ve played in,” Fred stated in an interview with MUFC media when asked about his favorite United experiences. This season, we had a memorable encounter against Crystal Palace, which we won 1-0.
“It was a fantastic atmosphere; we won, and I scored the game-winning goal.” I thought that was a standout performance.”
“I also remember the derbies,” Fred continued, “and beating [Manchester] City 2-1 away was a terrific game.” There are numerous historical games to keep in mind. The fact that I’ve played 100 games is quite significant in my career.”
