Not Dalot or Antony – Man United’s Christian Eriksen praises three teammates after Nottingham Forest win

Christian Eriksen lauded Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Antony for their contributions to Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Despite the fact that Erik ten Hag made several defensive changes, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, and Diogo Dalot starting at the City Ground, the team appeared comfortable and confident from the outset.

Forest are trying to keep their Premier League membership, but they struggled to threaten United in the first half, and Antony opened the scoring in the 32nd minute after Anthony Martial’s drive was deflected into his path.

After halftime, United’s attacking approach was relentless, and they produced plenty of chances, but they needed another goal to secure the victory, and Dalot struck the net with 15 minutes remaining.

United were good value for their 2-0 victory, and Eriksen, speaking to MUTV, was clearly pleased with his team’s performance.

“In some moments, we had a lot of chances to really finish the game a lot earlier than we did, but no, in general, we felt very confident,” he remarked. “The build-up to the game was different for me because I found out I’d be starting right before kick-off.”

“It was unique. It’s an unfortunate circumstance because one of the guys gets hurt and you have to fill in, but I was glad to be back. They [Casemiro and Fernandes] are two outstanding players who understand how to move and play the ball.

“It’s easy to blend in, even if you’ve been gone for a while.” They contribute much, but the team has been excellent, so it’s simple to fit in. When Rashy is out – and he’s been scoring a lot for us – everyone needs to step up, and we had a lot of chances tonight.

“We could have scored a lot more, but as you said about Antony, he did very well, he’s really helping the team, and to get some more goals and assists, it’s perfect.”
