Man Utd suspension issue could finally hand Casemiro his chance ahead of Man City clash

Casemiro could get his chance to shine at Manchester United soon.

Casemiro, Manchester United’s summer addition, could get his first Premier League to start soon. Since joining from Real Madrid for a sum that might increase to £70 million, Casemiro is yet to make his complete league debut for the Red Devils.

This could change in the following weeks. Behind Bruno Fernandes, Erik ten Hag has agreed on a midfield of Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen.

McTominay, on the other hand, is on the verge of being suspended. In his first six league outings this season, the Scotland international has received four yellow cards.

McTominay has only missed one league game this season, a 4-0 loss to Brentford in August. He is certain to start against rivals Manchester City on October 2.

He will, however, go into the game knowing that one mistake will rule him out of the following league game. Following City, United will face Everton, Newcastle, and Tottenham.

In the Premier League, the threshold for receiving a ban does not rise to 10 yellow cards until a club has played its first 19 games of the season. To avoid a ban, McTominay must stay out of the referee’s notebook for the next 13 games.

The 25-year-old is one of six English Premier League players who are one yellow card away from punishment. Joao Palhinha of Fulham is the only player to have received five yellow cards and will thus miss his team’s match against Newcastle on October 1.

Casemiro would be a natural replacement for McTominay. So far in the Premier League, the Brazilian has made three substitute appearances, while he has started one of the two Europa League group stage matches.

Graham Hunter, a Spanish football specialist, has stated that Casemiro would have to modify his playing style to that of Real Madrid. “Unique is a huge word, but Real Madrid’s approach is so unique that it’s hard for Casemiro to play exactly like he did in his glory years with them,” he remarked.

“I don’t think he’ll be asked to play that manner at United, though.” I’m optimistic that he’ll adjust to his surroundings.

“He has proven to be a true winner.” He has been a key member of a Real Madrid team that has been competitive in La Liga and the Champions League for a long time.”
