The Raine Group and the Glazer family are expected to communicate with bids this week, which might be crucial in the Manchester United purchase process. Sheikh Jassim, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and others will find out soon whether their bid was successful or if they are in the third stage.
Sheikh Jassim completed the second round of bidding on Saturday, three days beyond the Wednesday deadline of 9 p.m.
And the Raine Group will now meet with the Glazers to discuss their possibilities, with a possible minority investment.
Avram Glazer is considered to be unwilling to lose control of United, whilst Joel Glazer is said to be more amenable to a sale.
The US owners may take a minority stake, allowing them to invest in redeveloping Old Trafford and the club’s Carrington training complex while remaining in charge.
But, neither Sheikh Jassim nor Ratcliffe appears willing to back down from their efforts to capitalize on United’s entry into the market.
