Man Utd New Coach – Pundit names the manager Manchester United should appoint to replace Erik ten Hag

Amid growing scrutiny of Erik ten Hag’s managerial tenure at Manchester United following a painful 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, former Premier League champion Chris Sutton suggests that the club should consider Tottenham Hotspur’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, as a potential replacement.

The 3-0 scoreline in favor of Manchester City, while flattering the beleaguered hosts, is particularly painful for Manchester United, as many of their fans foresaw the outcome well in advance.

Serious questions about Ten Hag’s managerial capabilities have arisen for the first time during his Manchester United tenure.

Even some of his staunchest supporters were left puzzled by a series of questionable tactical decisions.

Questions arose about decisions like Scott McTominay replacing Mason Mount, the £55 million midfielder Ten Hag was eager to sign just a few months ago.

Additionally, there was frustration about Bruno Fernandes being deployed on the right wing yet again while Antony, an £82 million signing, remained on the bench.

While there is no immediate threat to Ten Hag’s job security, given his impressive debut season, the fact remains that Manchester United has lost half of its 14 games in all competitions this season.

This situation has prompted questions similar to the one posed by Sutton following the derby defeat.

“Big Ange,” the Celtic hero suggests as a potential replacement for Ten Hag in the challenging Old Trafford managerial role during an episode of the It’s All Kicking Off podcast.

Postecoglou took over the managerial reins at Tottenham during a similarly tumultuous period this summer.

The club was facing issues like fan discontent, a lack of leadership across multiple areas, the unpopularity of chairman Daniel Levy, and the departure of talismanic figure Harry Kane.

Despite inheriting a role with more problems than a complex puzzle, the amiable Australian manager has guided Tottenham to their best-ever Premier League start, with eight wins and two draws from 10 games. They are already 11 points ahead of Manchester United in the league.

“I don’t want to keep harping on about big Ange,” Sutton continues, “but when he initially arrived at Tottenham, there was a campaign with the hashtag ‘Postecoglou Out.’ Where are those people now? Where are you?”

Sutton may not receive a response, as Postecoglou’s critics may be too busy reconsidering their stance on the matter.
