Man Utd legend urges overpriced £100m man to pick Liverpool over transfer rivals

Andy Cole, a Manchester United legend, has pushed Declan Rice to choose Liverpool above the other Premier League clubs vying for his signature this summer.

Rice is largely anticipated to leave West Ham, who want £100 million for the England international, and has been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool.

The Gunners are expected to be in a pole position to acquire Rice this summer, but Cole has questioned whether a transfer to the Emirates would be the best option for the 24-year-old, given Arsenal’s depth in central midfield.

“Declan Rice has been unreliable, and what does he truly do?” Cole told Metro. Is Arsenal the right decision? Jorginho, Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, and Mohamed Elneny have already signed contract extensions. Mikel Arteta will not be able to please everyone, thus someone must go on.

“Was Chelsea the right choice?” I’m not sure either, especially since they recently acquired Enzo Fernandez and other midfielders. It will be interesting to see who he selects. But I would not pay West Ham’s £100 million asking price for him.”

Cole believes Rice would be a good fit for Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp’s midfield in need of a revamp this summer.

“If Liverpool is interested in Rice, I’d look at that midfield if I were him because they need to rebuild,” he continued. It appears that Liverpool wants to restart in the midfield, and it’s not like they’re a horrible club; they’ll bounce back next season.”

Rice, according to Jack Wilshere, would be the “perfect match” for Arsenal.

“He’s a versatile midfielder,” Wilshere remarked.

“Anybody who supports any club would like to see Dec join.”

“From a selfish standpoint, I believe he would be very good under Mikel’s supervision in north London.”

“Mikel would push him even farther, and he would be a huge asset to the squad.” I’ve spoken with Dec and told him that what he’s doing is incredible; he’s captain of a major Premier League club and is always learning.

“You have to respect West Ham because it is his club, but his future is in his hands, and it’s extremely exciting for him because he’s got everything with him now and he’s picking up more and more, he’s maturing into this man who could play anywhere.”

“I’m excited to see where he goes.” “I hope it’s Arsenal; it’d be a huge signing and a fantastic fit.”
