Heaton, Tom

On his first 90-minute performance of the tour, he had no chance for the goal and little else to do. 6

Dalot, Diogo

Continued to work well with Jadon Sancho, and his cross set up Anthony Martial’s goal. 6

Lindelof, Victor

He was too easily bypassed for the goal, despite being drawn out of position by Luke Shaw’s walkabout. 5

Harry Maguire

Not for the first time, I was late for a goal. United was penalized since they did not anticipate the threat. 5

Shaw, Luke

When the ball passed him in the move for the opening goal, he was still in the Melbourne third. After Bangkok, a letdown. 5

McTominay, Scott

His patience paid off as his third effort looped in through a critical deflection after two shots were blocked. 6

Fred

In a bland first half in which United played patiently, United did little wrong but accomplished little right. 6

Fernandes, Bruno

Was on the verge of regressing, but a shot was saved and he was considerably more cautious with the ball. 6

Sancho Jadon

Sancho, once again United’s greatest and most creative player, sent Fernandes in for a chance and then Dalot through for Martial’s goal. 7

Elanga, Anthony

He made no deliberate contributions to the attack other than an inswinger. Unknowingly aided Martial in making it 2-1.

Martial, Anthony

With a striker’s nouse, Martial was in the right place at the right time to seize the loose ball and put United ahead. 6

Subs

Laird, Ethan

Played ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka but did not make an impact. 6

Bailly, Eric

Another crowd-pleasing performance in which he was involved in United’s second-half goal, this time aiding Rashford. 7

Telles, Alex

A calmer night than in Bangkok. 6

Malacia, Tyrell

He, like Laird, did not exert himself in the game as the tempo dropped. 6

Savage, Charlie

Another productive appearance for the midfielder, who was more defensive than Zidane Iqbal. 7

Iqbal Zidane

Another slick performance from the 19-year-old who is threatening to become the tour’s breakout star. 7

Chong, Tahith

When Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho are on tour, this seems like a strange pick for the second half. Chong did, however, force their own goal. 6

Van de Beek, Donny

Ten Hag thinks he has a “smell” for it when he plays the 10 again. Again, Van de Beek didn’t get a whiff. 5

Rashford, Marcus

He achieved his purpose; the desired reaction to being benched for Elanga. 7

Amad

He was again forced to play through the middle, which did not help him, and he made little influence. 5
