Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack that Chelsea have had an approach rejected to sign Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho.
The Argentinian has developed into a contender to start matches at Old Trafford, despite an array of talent available to Erik ten Hag.
He made his impact known when he scored the last minute winner in the Premier League game against Fulham, sending the Red Devils into the international break in winning style.
The likes of Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were underperforming, as Chelsea fell to some of the best teams in the league.
He said: “Well, sources tell me that Chelsea have recently asked the reps of Garnacho about his current situation. However, Chelsea were informed that it was his intentions as of now to re-sign with United and we expect him to do so in the coming months.
“If he doesn’t find an agreement with United though, he wants to move abroad. So there is basically no chance for Chelsea, even though we did make an enquiry.”
