“Held in extremely high regard and will be First Signing”: Journalist says Man Utd chiefs want to sign “special” £70m star

Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise is highly valued at Manchester United, and the Red Devils believe they need a player of his caliber, according to journalist Dean Jones, who spoke to GIVEMESPORT.

Jones mentioned he would be ‘very surprised’ if United are not in discussions to sign Olise in the upcoming transfer window, calling the Frenchman a ‘gem’.

Olise reportedly has a release clause close to £70 million, which could be activated this summer, as several Premier League clubs show interest.

Despite a season plagued by injuries, Olise shone for Palace when fit, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists in 19 Premier League appearances.

The winger formed a formidable front three with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze this season, but it’s unlikely the trio will stay together at Selhurst Park next season.

Olise Held in High Regard at Man United

United need a player like Olise

Man United currently have depth in Olise’s position, but Jones told GIVEMESPORT that the Red Devils should not miss out on a player of his quality.

He said:

“Olise is held in extremely high regard at Old Trafford, and I would be very surprised if they are not in talks to sign him this summer. A right-sided forward is not the most urgent need, but Olise is a gem, and his stats back it up. You don’t want to miss out on players like this because of their potential impact in future years. United fans have seen players who can excite them for decades, and they need another one like Olise.”

Erik ten Hag’s side struggled for goals this season, scoring 58 in 38 Premier League matches, the same as Olise’s current team, Crystal Palace.

Adding Olise would be a step in the direction Man United are aiming for next season. The Red Devils reportedly plan to build around young talents like Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Kobbie Mainoo, all of whom impressed this season.

Man United’s Summer Rebuild Underway

There could be a mass exodus at Old Trafford

After a historically poor Premier League finish, Manchester United have begun their summer clear-out, with Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, and Alvaro Fernandez confirmed to be leaving the club.

Veterans Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans could follow, as their contracts expire at the end of next month, and both are unlikely to stay for another year.

Midfielder Casemiro is also expected to leave, with clubs from Saudi Arabia showing interest in the 32-year-old Brazilian.
