Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is already hinting at a permanent move for Sofyan Amrabat at Manchester United next summer.

The Red Devils have experienced a shaky start to their Premier League campaign, with three losses in their first six matches. Although a recent narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley offered some respite to manager Erik ten Hag, fans remain skeptical about the club’s current trajectory.

Sofyan Amrabat, a summer loan signing, made a brief appearance during the Burnley match, coming off the bench in the closing minutes of normal time. According to Romano, Manchester United is already strategizing to secure the 27-year-old midfielder on a permanent deal next summer, a move they couldn’t complete during the recent transfer window.

Speaking on The United Stand YouTube channel, Romano stated, “Usually, if you spend €10 million on a loan deal, it means you want to sign the player the following summer. We know it was not possible to spend €30 million last summer because of Financial fairplay, so it was crucial to find a creative solution. But if Amrabat will do what Amrabat is absolutely able to do, he will be a Manchester United player on a permanent transfer next summer. It depends on him, but that is the idea of the club.”

This prospect seems all the more likely when considering the secret clause that Fiorentina included in Amrabat’s contract upon his move to Old Trafford. This clause could increase Manchester United’s chances of securing the Morocco international on a permanent basis.

After his debut against Burnley, Amrabat expressed his joy on Instagram, saying, “Amazing feeling to make my debut, happy with the win. Thanks for the warm welcome.”
