Since the appointment of former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag, De Jong has been a top objective for Manchester United. In an ideal world, the Dutch strategist would like to collaborate with his countryman again.

Manchester United wants midfield reinforcements following the departures of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba. They picked De Jong as a target since his current club, Barcelona, required finances.

Indeed, the two clubs have reportedly agreed on the terms of De Jong’s transfer from Camp Nou to Old Trafford. However, a third person must agree to any agreement, and that is the player himself.

De Jong has been quite hesitant to join Manchester United in this regard. His contract with Barcelona is still valid for four years.

But they’re still trying to get rid of him. According to reports, his agents are now urging Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain to make a bid for him.

Man United would suffer a significant blow if De Jong moved to Chelsea, who offers Champions League football. However, the most recent updates from Spain indicate that transfer may also not take place.

De Jong, according to Diario Sport, does not want to play in the Premier League. He turned down opportunities to do so when he departed Ajax in 2019.

Although Sport reports that a “sensational offer” from Chelsea could lure him to the capital, he has ruled out a move to Manchester United. Furthermore, both clubs may miss out on a destination he prefers.

According to the source, if Bayern Munich came knocking, De Jong would regard them as a better fit for his style. Furthermore, they are based closer to their home nation and are legitimate Champions League candidates.

Bayern’s pursuit of Matthijs de Light is another element in their favor. The Bundesliga winners want to sign De Jong’s former Ajax teammate – and fellow Dutch international – from Juventus.

Frenkie de Jong is a better fit for Bayern Munich, but a deal is improbable.

De Jong seemed to be more interested in reconciling with De Ligt than their former manager Ten Hag.

Given the aforementioned considerations, Bayern Munich could be a fantastic fit for De Jong. They might be his next stepping stone at the age of 25.

And it would make much more sense if his heart is with them rather than Manchester United or Chelsea. Other targets should be considered by Premier League suitors.

However, as things are, signing De Jong to Bayern Munich would be challenging. Despite eventually reaching an agreement, their relationship with Barcelona was strained throughout the Robert Lewandowski saga.

As a result, Sport believes De Jong will stay with Barcelona. He maintains a positive relationship with head coach Xavi and should contend for a starting spot.
