First Interview – Rasmus Hojlund ‘completes first Man United interview’ with transfer confirmation imminent

After clearing a medical, Rasmus Hojlund did his first interview as a Manchester United player.

The 20-year-old is expected to become Erik ten Hag’s third summer signing, following Mason Mount and Andre Onana, after a deal worth €75 million (£64 million) plus £10 million (£8 million) in add-ons was negotiated with Atalanta over the weekend.

Soon after, Hojlund bid goodbye to his former teammates and went to Manchester to finalize the transaction, having already agreed to a five-year contract with the option of an additional year.

United made Hojlund their top transfer target after previous first-choice Harry Kane stated that he would not join a Premier League opponent.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Hojlund has passed the routine medical checks and the first part of his media duties ahead of his expected unveiling on Wednesday.

Hojlund is expected to make his debut this weekend, when United hosts Lens at Old Trafford on Saturday and Athletic Bilbao at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Sunday.
