The Cameroonian international goalkeeper is scheduled to undertake medical tests in Manchester early this week before joining his new colleagues for the pre-season tour in the United States. This is United’s second huge signing of the summer, following the £60 million acquisition of Mason Mount from Chelsea.

While the signing of Onana is a big boost for United, the Express believes that their transfer intentions are far from over. Erik ten Hag is looking to bolster his attacking options, with a striker being a primary priority.

The team is now focusing on Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund, a highly rated 20-year-old Danish prodigy. United face competition from PSG for Hojlund’s signing, although the player is said to prefer a move to Old Trafford.

The primary obstacle to completing the transaction is reaching an agreement with Atalanta on the transfer fee. United has yet to submit an opening offer, but talks are expected to develop in the coming days and weeks as the club determines its transfer budget.

While Hojlund is regarded as a capable striker in the present, United sees him as a promising talent in the future. If the transaction is completed, United will have the option to reassess their striker options in the summer of 2024, when Tottenham’s Harry Kane becomes available on a free transfer.

The Red Devils are willing to offload numerous players in order to support their transfer activity. Among the players declared available for transfer are Harry Maguire, Fred, and Anthony Martial.
