Manchester United is close to selling Fred to Fenerbahce and will shortly launch a bid for Sofyan Amrabat worth around £26 million.
The BBC reported last night that the Red Devils have accepted a sum of £12.9 million (15 million euros) to sell Fred to the Turkish giants.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta Dello Sport (press image below), Manchester United remains in pole position to buy Amrabat from Fiorentina.
The renowned Italian newspaper claims that now that Manchester United have completed the sale of their Brazilian midfielder, they would make an offer close to Viola’s asking price of £26 million to recruit the Moroccan.
Gazzetta mentions Juventus’ interest but states that a move to the Turin-based club is only feasible if they can gather sufficient finances or if Fiorentina agrees to a loan agreement.
It should be noted that the 26-year-old holding midfielder’s current contract with Florence expires on June 30, 2024, therefore the Serie A club would want to dispose of him on a permanent basis during the current transfer window.
Fred has been a hardworking center-fielder for us, but the Samba star is erratic and not a great play breaker.
