Jadon Sancho’s tumultuous journey at Manchester United took a turn for the worse, with revelations about his habit of tardiness causing discontent among teammates.

Nemanja Matic, a former United player, disclosed that Sancho’s chronic lateness was a long-standing issue, leading to frustration within the squad.

“At Chelsea, players were punctual and acted professionally. At United, it happened almost every day. Among the players who would always be late were Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho,” Matic revealed.

The squad, irked by the tardiness, implemented fines, collecting around £75,000 during one season. Their original plan to use the funds for a party was thwarted by the Covid outbreak.

Since Matic’s departure last summer, Sancho’s situation has deteriorated. He remains unavailable for selection, having contested claims made by Ten Hag in September.

Sancho’s refusal to apologize has resulted in Ten Hag banishing him from all first-team areas at the training ground, leaving him to train alone in preparation for the January transfer window.

The uncertainty lingers over Sancho’s future, with potential interest from clubs like Dortmund and teams in the Saudi Pro League.
