Bruno Fernandes rages at Man Utd trio after Newcastle loss as Steve McClaren gets involved

After Manchester United’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle United on Sunday, Bruno Fernandes lashed out at his teammates, particularly Marcus Rashford. As United’s hold on a top-four berth loosened further, Erik ten Hag’s deputy Steve McClaren became involved at St. James’ Park.

At the final whistle on Tyneside, Sky Sports cameras saw Fernandes aggressively gesticulating toward the bench.

The Portuguese playmaker appeared to be asking his teammates to go to the away fans who lingered till the conclusion of what was perhaps United’s worst 90-minute performance since Ten Hag took over.

According to the Manchester Evening News, McClaren was forced to tell Lisandro Martinez, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford to go over and recognize the visiting fans when Fernandes yelled at them to do the same.

United’s away fans have watched a string of disasters this season as Ten Hag’s side struggles to duplicate their dominant home success on the road.

Fernandes also paid respect to those staring down from the heights in St James’ famed away section.

United has only taken one point from the past nine Premier League games and 12 from the last 27.

It has hauled the Red Devils back into the top-four battle that they appeared to be out of, with Newcastle leapfrogging them into third place.

If Tottenham Hotspur beat Everton on Monday, Ten Hag’s team will tumble to sixth, although with two games in hand over the Lilywhites.

Next week, Old Trafford hosts two Premier League games against Brentford and Everton, giving United an opportunity to get back on track.

United’s excellent home performances have propelled them to lengthy cup runs and an improved league campaign.

Newcastle, on the other hand, is the latest team to send them back to the M16 with their tails between their legs.

Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brentford all beat United, who also lost at Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Ten Hag’s team will need to improve their road record if they are to assure a Champions League return in the final 11 league games.
