Ratcliffe is set to acquire a 25% stake in United, potentially leading to a broader overhaul of the football operations.

One player catching the attention of United scouts is Benfica’s emerging talent, Joao Neves. The 19-year-old midfielder showcased his skills by scoring a goal in Benfica’s recent 2-1 victory over Sporting.

With Ratcliffe eyeing changes and United seeking midfield reinforcements, Neves has become a target for the January transfer window.

Fernandes, currently on international duty with Portugal, shared his admiration for Neves. In an interview with Sport TV Portugal, Fernandes acknowledged Neves as an “excellent player” and praised his professionalism.

While expressing his admiration, Fernandes emphasized that the decision on Neves’ place in the squad ultimately rests with the coach.

“It has to be the Man United coach who says whether he has a place or not,” Fernandes stated. “He’s a great player, I don’t know if he would have a place or not.

It depends on the coach and his ideas. But he’s an excellent player and an excellent kid, very professional, he will have a bright future wherever he goes.”

Addressing rumors surrounding his own future, Fernandes clarified that he is fully focused on the national team and Manchester United.

Dismissing speculation, he affirmed his contentment with his current club and expressed a desire to concentrate on achieving his goals.

“I’m focusing on the national team and United. I’m happy where I am,” Fernandes asserted. “Today, it’s very easy to spread rumors in the press. I prefer to concentrate on my goals.”
