Manchester United has not played a domestic game in some time, but the club is still busy on and off the field as the countdown to January continues.

England’s Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw have started all three World Cup matches in Qatar, and teammate Marcus Rashford made an impression against Wales on Tuesday night. Will the academy graduate, though, keep his position in the starting XI for their last-16 clash?

On Sunday night (7 p.m.), England takes on Senegal, with other United stars also competing. Meanwhile, one eye is on the upcoming transfer window, when would-be players like Cody Gakpo have been linked with a move due to his great performances for the Netherlands.

Then there’s the pretty significant issue of the impending takeover at Old Trafford.

Juventus rejected United’s ‘Van de Beek trade proposal.’

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Marco Guidi, Juventus turned down a swap deal proposed by Manchester United in August 2021 that included Donny van de Beek and Weston McKennie.

McKennie, an American midfielder, was a key part of the United States march to the World Cup last 16 and has played regularly for his club team throughout the last two seasons as well as this one.

Van de Beek has failed to make an impression since joining United in 2020 and has struggled to find his feet at Old Trafford under former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.
