The 29-year-old midfielder appears to have played his final game for the Red Devils.
He was pulled out with a calf injury barely ten minutes into United’s 4-0 loss to Liverpool, and interim manager Ralf Rangnick ruled Pogba out of United’s remaining games after consulting with the club doctor.
“The doctor informed me it will take at least four weeks for him to recuperate, and the last game is at the end of May,” Rangnick told the press. “I don’t think he’ll be able to play again.”
Pogba’s unclear future at Manchester United has been the subject of numerous rumors for some time. He declared United’s season “dead” in March after another dismal, trophy-less campaign.
“To be honest, the last five seasons have not satisfied me — not at all,” Pogba told Le Figaro. “It’s dead this year; we’re not going to win anything.” I want to win trophies, whether it’s at Manchester United or another team.”
He went on to criticize his inconsistency at United, where he has played in a variety of positions since joining from Juventus for £93.2 million in the summer of 2016.
“It’s simple with France: I play and I play in my position; I know my function and I feel the coach and the players’ confidence,” he continued.
“It’s reasonable to feel a difference at Manchester United because it’s difficult to remain constant when your position, or the team structure, or your partners change frequently… do I truly have a role?” “I pose the question, but I have no response.”
According to The Mirror, Pogba has informed his teammates that he will be leaving Old Trafford this summer and ‘is reported to have departed the WhatsApp group.
According to the article, the World Cup winner has received offers to join Real Madrid and previous club Juventus in the summer, with Barcelona also reportedly interested in his services.
What are your thoughts on Pogba potentially leaving Old Trafford on a free transfer in the coming months?
Absolutely gutted to not be able to help the team in today’s game. I will work even harder to come back stronger and hopefully before the end of the season. It’s not over 💪🏾 Thank you all for your support, United we would stand! pic.twitter.com/ExmduyutD5
