Piero Ausilio, Inter’s sporting director, traveled to London yesterday to negotiate with United, and it was successful in finalizing an agreement for Onana.

The Nerazzurri initially requested €60 million for the Cameroonian star, but that sum has since been reduced to €55 million following ongoing negotiations.

The fixed price was a stumbling block in the deal, but United has now agreed to pay Inter the demanded €50 million plus an additional €5 million in bonuses.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the ‘final okay’ from the Nerazzurri should arrive “today.”

Onana might make his Manchester United debut this weekend.

United boss Erik ten Hag recently encouraged the club’s administration to sign Onana by Friday, and it appears that they are on the approach of doing so.

Onana has already signed personal terms on a five-year contract with United, and the transfer should be completed as soon as Inter gives the go-ahead.

The Cameroonian should be an excellent addition to United. He is one of the best ball-playing goalkeepers in the world, with excellent mobility.

Last season, the 27-year-old completed 78% of his passes with over six long balls. He was very good at breaking the fourth wall to make bold assertions.

Overall, he should be an improvement in goal for Manchester United following the departure of David de Gea. Ten Hag is optimistic that the club will complete the appropriate paperwork this weekend.

The Red Devils play Lyon in their next friendly on Wednesday in Edinburgh before heading to the United States to face Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund.

If Onana signs his deal this weekend, supporters may see him play against Les Gones. Otherwise, he might make his non-competitive debut on July 22 against Arsenal.
