Analyst tells Man Utd star his Old Trafford career is ‘over’ with Ten Hag coming to brutal verdict

According to a football commentator, Erik ten Hag is unlikely to choose a player for Manchester United again after a dismal appearance for the Red Devils over the weekend.

Ten Hag was hired as United’s permanent manager in the summer, succeeding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Between the dismissal of the Norwegian and the employment of the Dutchman, German Ralf Rangnick has served as temporary manager.

Ten Hag had remarkable success with Ajax during his five and a half seasons as manager, winning the Eredivisie three times. He also led the Amsterdammers to the Champions League semi-finals, with just a late defeat to Tottenham preventing them from reaching the final.

Ten Hag established a formidable reputation at Ajax for taking no prisoners and doing things his way. In this aspect, he has attracted comparisons to the management style of Sir Alex Ferguson, the greatest of all time.

That tenacity and steely resolve will surely benefit him. And, only a few months into his tenure at Old Trafford, optimism for a great season is increasing.

The Red Devils’ immediate goal will be to finish in the top four. United is presently fifth in the table, with seven wins and four losses from 14 games played.

However, after a disheartening 3-1 loss to Aston Villa over the weekend, United missed out on a chance to climb into the top four.

Many were surprised by the outcome, with one United star putting in his worst performance since joining the club.

Another surprise before the game began was the inclusion of Donny van de Beek in the United starting lineup.

The star has had a difficult time at Old Trafford, having been loaned out to Everton last season.

Ten Hag arrives at a harsh Donny van de Beel judgment.
The appointment of his former Ajax mentor, Ten Hag, was expected to signal a new beginning for Van de Beek. Indeed, the newly appointed United boss made a public pledge to give the Netherlands international opportunities to shine this season.

Van de Beek, on the other hand, did not capitalize on his opportunity on Sunday. He put in a terrible showing as Villa took an all-too-easy three points. And it’s no wonder that Van de Beek was hooked after only 65 minutes.

According to Dutch analyst Johan Derksen, the player’s most recent performance is likely to be his last in a United shirt.

“I was watching Aston Villa vs. Manchester United when Erik ten Hag made a huge blunder by putting [Christian] Eriksen and Donny van de Beek together in midfield,” Derksen told Vandaag Inside.

“Eriksen may have made a wonderful pass and done nothing else, but Donny van de Beek performed poorly.” He had no say in the matter. He was substituted after walking all over the field.

“They failed because of guys who could only do so much with the ball.”
