Agents have ‘raised level of pressing’ to get client to Man United – New offer could arrive in ‘a matter of hours’

According to today's Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United will launch a 'decisive assault' to recruit Atalanta striker Rasmus Hjlund.

Erik Ten Hag has been pursuing the striker for several months, and he is eager to join United because it has always been his goal to play for them.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are both interested in signing the 20-year-old. His agents are alleged to have told the Serie A club of their desire to move him elsewhere this summer.

According to Gazzetta, there are two important variables for the two suitors to ‘unblock’ the negotiations, the first of which is meeting the €70 million price tag established by the Italian club.

Despite having no financial need, Atalanta has decided to sell the Denmark international on their terms. They are opposed to the inclusion of other players as part of the contract.

Although there have been reports of Manchester United proposing €50 million plus €10 million in bonuses, the publication claims they have not made a ‘formal move’ yet. This is due to agents ‘serving as a bridge’ between the two clubs.

According to reports, Hjlund’s agents have ‘increased the amount of pressuring,’ indicating Manchester United’s strong desire to retain his services.

Gazzetta even claims it will only be a matter of hours until Ten Hag’s side makes a new offer.

The second factor is that Atalanta wants to sell the player as soon as possible so that they may bring in his replacement, as they are planning to do with Jeremie Boga.

With all sides eager to complete the transaction, there would be progress as long as the Red Devils made a better offer.
