The Red Devils’ current first-choice goalkeeper is David de Gea. The Spaniard has been a consistent starter for the previous 12 years, but that could change in the coming season.

Erik ten Hag recently stated that he cannot guarantee a starting berth for the Spaniard next season, and the club has subsequently been linked with a deal for Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

TuttoJuve claims that United and Chelsea are looking to bring Szczesny back to the Premier League. The Bianconeri might get €10 million for the former Arsenal player.

Szczesny speculation for a new contract could be agent-driven.
United looks open to signing a new goalkeeper this summer, but an approach for Szczesny, who is a year older than De Gea, is improbable.

When it comes to passing accuracy and long balls, the Poland international outperforms De Gea, but he is still a long way from being a modern goalkeeper.

Neither De Gea nor Szczesny is skilled at breaking the fourth wall. In short, Szczesny would not be an upgrade for the Red Devils in 2023/24.

We believe the conjecture is agent-driven, with Juventus rewarding him with a new contract beyond June 2025. This could help him see further forward in his profession.

If United is looking for a new number one, a deal for Costa should be prioritized. The 23-year-old has quick reactions and is adept at intercepting crosses.

The Portuguese player is likewise at ease with the ball at his feet. However, he will not be cheap, with Porto unwilling to trade him for less than his €75 million release clause.
