Ten Hag has been appointed as Manchester United’s new permanent manager ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The Dutchman leaves Ajax having helped them win the Eredivisie three times.

Timber has been an important player for Ajax in recent seasons. He has appeared 74 times for them since the beginning of 2020.

Last year, the 20-year-old earned his international debut for the Netherlands. He is primarily a center-back, but he can also play at right-back.

The Ajax player has recently been extensively linked with a move to Manchester United. According to the Guardian, Ten Hag ‘wants to make the defender one of his first signings.’

Man United is said to be in contact with Ajax about Timber. He has two years left on his deal and is thought to be worth roughly £43 million.

Ten Hag is also said to be monitoring Villarreal center-back Pau Torres. He has a release clause of £51 million.

In other news, RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku has revealed that Paris is his “home” amid speculation over a move to the Premier League.

Nkunku stepped up his game this season, scoring 35 goals and giving 20 assists in 51 games across all competitions. He scored in the DFB-Pokal final, which his team won on penalties 5-3.

His outstanding form has led to interest from a number of teams, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, PSG, and Real Madrid.

According to Transfermarkt, France international is worth £58.5 million and is out of contract in 2024.

With the Premier League’s top surroundings, Nkunku has thrown a significant hint regarding his future, stating that PSG is his “heart club.”

“Paris, as I’ve always said, is my home, my heart club,” Nkunku remarked (quotes via Manchester Evening News). “I don’t shut any doors.” In football, anything is possible.

“It’s flattering to know that the world’s biggest clubs are interested in me.” It’s also flattering that Leipzig is doing all in its power to keep me. We’re in June, and I’m concentrating on this meeting [with the French national team].”
